What is CMMC?

Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a unified standard that was designed to address cybersecurity issues for Department of Defense (DoD) contractors.

All DoD contractors and suppliers must be Cybersecurity Maturity Model certified by October 2025. Starting this year, contractors can expect to see new requests for proposal (RFP) that will gradually require CMMC certification.

The guide to CMMC will tell you everything you need to know about when you’re required to be certified and important dates to remember along the way. There are five levels to CMMC, and some contractors will want to obtain a higher level than others. At a minimum, all contractors are required to obtain Level 1 certification. The guide goes into further detail about what obtaining each level means for your organization.
